Poe's death was not by rabies, because there was no animals present.Although he had a cat, Poe did not have eny scratches or bites marks of eny kind.so there was no proof at all that Poe had gotten bite by eny animal and had eny rabies.

Goin back to october 3, when a printer named Joseph Walker saw him at gunners hall,a baltimore tavern,strangely dressed and semiconscious,It was election day for members of congress, and like like no other local watering holes the tavern served as a polling place poe seemed to Walker rather the worse for wear and in great distress.
